Synopsis
The attacks launched by the Trump administration against scientific research resemble a new witch hunt. Some researchers choose exile, accepting offers from Europeans determined to attract the very minds on which America once built its power.
But will that be enough to build a true European research landscape? And to save science in the face of a populist tsunami that extends far beyond American borders?
