Written and directed by Emmanuelle Petit
At the age of 93, accompanied by her two daughters, who were born there, Marie-Thérèse Le Moal returns to the Island of Sein, where she worked as a schoolteacher in the early 1960s. Through her memories, reunions with the island’s inhabitants, and previously unseen archival footage, Anchored Offshore weaves a dialogue between past and present. Blending the portrait of a remarkable woman with the memory of an island, the film explores the enduring strength of an extraordinary place, where the wind shapes the landscape as profoundly as it shapes the lives of those who inhabit it.
