For thousands of years, humans have entered trances to heal the body and mind. Today, this non-ordinary state of consciousness fascinates scientists. Whether induced by psychedelics or other techniques, trance has become a privileged scientific gateway to consciousness. And researchers are unanimous: this altered state of consciousness holds therapeutic promise in the treatment of widespread conditions such as depression and addiction. Trance thus takes us to the heart of the human mind and its complexity.
