In search of the Aurora

Directed by Frédéric Cordier, co-written with Philippe Molins

Synopsis

In the magical setting of Titicaca and the Andes Mountains, the film is a modern odyssey that immerses us in the mysteries and challenges of the little-known history of navigation on this legendary lake. Fifty years after Cousteau's first explorations, a team of international scientists is leading a unique expedition in search of the wreck of the Aurora.
Shipped on board the Yavari, the 19th century twin ship of the Aurora, restored by the granddaughter of an English naval engineer, the 21st-century robot Ocean One will be used to search for the wreck. This is an unprecedented scientific experiment that will allow us to explore the shadowy depths of this vast high-altitude lake for the first time.
