Carnival In Salvador De Bahia, Black Beauty

Directed by Luis Miranda

Synopsis

This intimate and, at the same time, spectacular portrayal of the history of a people and of their African roots in Brazil is presented from an anthropological perspective. The film takes us on a journey to meet the emblematic figures of the Bahian black population who take over the city to preserve the spirit of this spectacular street festival. For the first time at the Salvador Carnival, it is the heart of Africa which can be heard in the beat of the Batucadas and of the samba.
