Le droit d'avoir des droits

Written and directed by Catherine Rechard

Synopsis

Several times a week, lawyers go from prison to prison to visit their clients in detention. At their side after the trial and throughout their clients’ sentences they provide support, a kind of "after-sales service".

The right for prisoners to benefit from this service did not exist until the mid-1990s and there are still few lawyers who provide it.

Because of this, other prisoners undertake their own legal procedures and litigations without the help of counsel, which for some of them opens new perspectives.
